Full-Time Advertising Manager, Digital & Print
Job Description
Niagara Community Newspapers are looking for a Multimedia Advertising Manager to join their team. Reporting to the Publisher, the Advertising Manager will direct achievement of all advertising revenue sales targets.
The successful candidate must have an excellent understanding of both marketing and media. Your strong background in outside sales with a key focus on customer service needs will be a definite asset when training and coaching your sales team. You will be responsible for generating new advertising revenues through an existing customer base as well as developing new accounts through strategic multiplatform sales strategies and programs.
Our successful candidate must be entrepreneurial, determined and imaginative with excellent interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities will include but may not be limited to:
Ensure sales team targets are met through stringent monitoring and regular communication
Drive revenue to meet or surpass revenue targets and objectives by developing new revenue categories
Focus heavily on business development and building new relationships
Be alert to changing market needs and realities, help develop proposals and multimedia packages for clients and potential clients
Prioritize tasks to optimize revenue-generating activities and thus surpass budget targets
Manage process and procedures for tracking sales and accurate and timely weekly and month end reporting
Develop training programs supported by weekly, monthly and one-time coaching sessions
Qualifications
3 to 5 years sales management experience is desired in print advertising and ideally, interactive marketing sales combined with well-established existing relations in the media industry
Excellent communication, negotiation, both written and verbal
Works well in a fast-paced team environment and is able to juggle multiple priorities
Excellent presentation skills
Ability to utilize market research and other data in creating presentations
Good knowledge of Microsoft Office – Word, Excel and PowerPoint
College or university degree in business, marketing, communication, public relations
Well organized with attention to detail
