Employers & Recruiters

1.  How do I register for an account?

Registration is free on Media Careers Canada. To register for an account simply click on the “Login/Register” tab on the top right of your screen.  On that page you will see “Create a free account”.  Select “I am an Employer” and fill in the details.

2.  How do I start searching for resumes?

Once you are logged into your account, select “Browse Resumes” on the top right side of your menu. Please note that in order to get full access to browse our resume database it will cost you $50.00 for 30 days. 

3. Can I manually remove my job listing (s) before the 60 day period is over?

Sure. Once logged in click on “My Dashboard” on the top right. On the left side of your screen you will see all the jobs you have listed with us. Choose the job you want to remove and click on “End”. The job will automatically be removed. Your changes will come into effect only after you log out of your account and back in.

4.  I have made changes to my job ad (s) but I don’t see them?

If you have chosen to make changes or updates to your job ad, you must first click on the “Save” button at the bottom of the page. Your changes will come into effect only after you log out of your account and back in.

5.  I do not want to list my company’s name in the job ad. What should I do?

In the company name field box simply type in “Company Confidential” or “Unnamed”.

6.  What payment methods do you accept?

We accept online payments via PayPal – the world’s leader in online payment processing. You do not need a PayPal account if you wish to pay us with a debit card or credit card. VISA, Mastercard, American Express & Discovery are all accepted through Paypal. Additional payment methods may be implemented in the future.

7. What are your job posting rates and do you offer job packs?

JobSeekers

1. How do I register for a JobSeeker account?

Registration is free. To register for an account simply click on the “Login/Register” tab on the top right of your screen. On that page you will see “Create a free account”.  Select “I am a Job Seeker” and fill in the details.

2. Can I post my resume for free?

Yes! All job seekers can post their resumes for free after they register for a free account. You will never be charged to use our services.

3. How do I search/browse for jobs by type, category, date etc?

On the right side of the homepage there is a white box with the titles “Browse by” and “Tags”. Click on either one to define your job search by job types, salaries, dates etc.

4. How do I create a resume?

Once logged in, you will have access to your personal dashboard where you can create and manage your resume and profile. Click on “Resume” then “Add Resume” (fill in the details) and then click “Save”.

5. How do I make my resume searchable for Employers/Recruiters?

When you create a resume and save it on our site, it will automatically save as “Private”. In order to let employers/recruiters find your resume you must publish it first. This can be achieved in the following simple step: Click on the red text “Publish” and you’re done.

Your resume will now be searchable only to employers/recruiters registered on our site. You also have the option to edit, hide and delete your resume whenever you want. Please note that if you set your resume as “Private” it will not be viewable nor searchable for employers/recruiters.

6. I have made changes to my resume but I don’t see them?

If you have chosen to make changes or updates to your resume, you must first click on the “Save” button at the bottom of the page. Your changes will come into effect once you log out of your account and back in.

7. What is “View Profile”?

Aside from your resume, “View Profile” is a brief overview of your career status, availability and willingness to travel for any job (s). This is an optional field. It provides Employers/Recruiters with additional information when searching for the right candidate.
